Open pollinated Zinnia seed- all grown at Roam Flora!
This is an open pollinated zinnia seed mix that we have been working on for a few years now. Each year we only select the most bright, beautiful and full seed heads with ombre tones and we have found that even though the seed is open pollinated, they come back over 70% true.
Each seed packet has at least 50 zinnia seeds.
Plant Height: 3-4 feet
All of our seed is grown, harvested, cleaned and packaged by hand. Each order helps fund our flower breeding journey and allows us to keep sharing our results to get more beauty out into the world.

GROWING INFORMATION:
To start early: sow seeds 4-6 weeks before your last frost date. In Ottawa, we start our zinnia seed in mid-April. Sow in 72 cell trays, use heat mats and grow lights for best results. When planting out your seedlings, plant them deep - they will root along the stem, strengthening lanky seedlings.
To direct sow: After all chance of frost has passed, lightly press seeds into the soil (about a 1/4 inch down). Mark where you put your seeds and keep the soil moist until they sprout; then water regularly.
Plant spacing: 9" apart in full sun (at least 6 hours a day) for best results
Pinch top shoot after 4 sets of leaves to encourage branching and more blooms.
Succession plant every 2-3 weeks for continual blooms all summer long.
TIP - Zinnias are heat lovers so don't plant them out too early in the spring! Even if it's hot during the day make sure the nighttime temperatures are warm too. In Ottawa, the time to plant out zinnia is after the May long weekend.
