Our Story

For the love of flowers.

Roam Flora is a solar-powered flower and seed farm on the west side of Ottawa, Canada, founded in 2019 by Laura Langford and Dawson Hamilton.

We started out growing cut flowers, drawn to the beauty of the blooms and the joy of sharing them with others. But over time, our passion evolved. We became increasingly fascinated by the plants themselves — their diversity, their genetics, and the endless possibilities of what we could grow.

Today, our focus has shifted from growing flowers for others to enjoy in a vase to growing the plants that make those flowers possible. We're passionate about dahlia hybridizing, exploring unique varieties, and growing flowers for seed. There's something incredibly exciting about creating new possibilities in the garden and sharing them with others.

Across our two acres, we're continually working to build healthier soil, encourage biodiversity, and grow in ways that support the land. We believe some of the greatest joy in gardening comes from getting your hands dirty, discovering something unexpected, and watching something grow from the very beginning.

Our hope is to inspire more people to grow their own flowers, experiment with new varieties, and experience the magic of a garden full of blooms. Rather than growing every flower for you, we'd rather give you the seeds and tubers to grow them yourself.

Because at the heart of everything we do, it's always beenfor the love of flowers.

Thank you for being here and growing with us.

Please note: Our farm is currently closed to the public, and we no longer offer pick-your-own experiences. We hope to offer workshops again in the future.
