Open pollinated Dahlia seed- all grown at Roam Flora!
If you've never grown dahlias from seed we highly recommend you try! It's so much fun to see what each plant will look like and if you love one you can dig up its tubers at the end of the season to grow it again the next year.
Dahlia seeds produce new varieties of dahlias while tubers are a clone of the plant, coming back the same as the season before. By growing dahlia seed you can find brand new varieties. And bonus - We find that dahlia seedlings (started inside) are the first to bloom compared to plants grown from a tuber.
Each seed packet has at least 25 dahlia seeds.
Plant Height: 4-5+ feet, a mix of colours and styles.
All of our seed is grown, harvested, cleaned and packaged by hand. Each order helps fund our flower breeding journey and allows us to keep sharing our results to get more beauty out into the world.

Seeds will ship out as orders are received. When our sale opens we will work hard to get orders out as quickly as possible but please be patient it might take a little bit longer as we work through the orders.

GROWING INFORMATION:
For best results start indoors 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. In Ottawa, we start our dahlia seed in mid-April. Sow in 72 cell trays, use heat mats and grow lights for best results. When planting out your seedlings plant them deep - leave their leaves just exposed.
Plant spacing: 6 to 9 inch in full sun (at least 6 hours a day) for best results.
